My practice revolves around the question of communication—or really—miscommunication. Misreadings, false leads and abstruse emphases are my favoured materials. I am particularly interested in what might be called the art-mode of viewing—the brief and partial suspension (and possible alteration) of ‘the world’ and opinion. I often work in a style derived from design, but this interest does not necessarily extend to clarity of expression.

My current research considers the position of the artist in an increasingly banalised and commercially integrated art system. Addressing the simultaneous rise of 'post-critical' stances and the pre-incorporation of critical claims into contemporary art, I attempt to develop productive ways for thinking art out of its double bind via a re-engagement with the ostensibly outmoded concept of autonomy.
